All the way from Friday to Tuesday there is something at the Swap Shop for body and soul.
FRIDAY: Amy McBride has a simply delicious way for you to start the weekend with her baked potato bar and veggie tofu wraps. Come on out for the gym time 3-5 and stay for the food 5:30-7 and then stay on for more gym time 6-9 or go over to . . .
THE WIZARD OF OZ: Last two performances of the Sunnyside Environmental School’s K-8 grade production of this kid friendly classic on Friday and Saturday. The only kid challenging element is the 3 hour performance run. Get the wiggles out and your meal from Amy before the Friday show at 7pm or get an earlier start on Saturday at 5pm. Tickets $4 at the door. Arrive a ½ hour early to claim your seat.

SATURDAY: It’s a family affair when Chris Lydgate comes to sing on our Swap Shop stage 6-7. This time around, his mom is in town, and, as always his partner Audrey and her sister usually comes along to meet up with all the rest of us that enjoy a well played ukulele and a place where the kids can run free while the adults relax.
FOR YOUR HEALTH:
You have two ways to take great care of your self (and the ones you care about) through the Swap Shop this weekend and early in the week.
H.E.A.L. SUPPORT GROUP – Saturday in up in The Roost 2pm-4pm, you can join in on the second monthly meeting of a new support group formed by co-op member Sierra Ainsley with input from long time Swap Shop member Eve Green. The word H.E.A.L. stands for: Hope, Education, Advocacy and Listening. Everyone who gathers in this group (about 6 or so people so far) supports each other in walking through the challenges of figuring out those physical and behavior health issues for kids and adults that elude basic diagnosis or traditional approaches. It’s great to have a sounding board for your own health process and to learn from everyone else’s experience.
Babes in arms are welcome. Because of the nature of the discussion, Sierra has someone she can contact to be in the Swap Shop with older kids who need to come along. Contact her if you’d like this kind of childcare to be able to attend or have questions about the group. sierra•ansley©gmail•com or 503-753-5232.
Guests are welcome and there is no cost to attend. Just another nice perk of being a Swap Shop member.
TUESDAY NIGHT YOGA – 7pm-8pm on the Swap Shop stage. Speaking of perks . . . Second Tuesday of every month is our adult yoga meet up. Treat yourself to an hour of stretching and relaxation with co-op member Natalie Henry Bennon who teaches Yoga at People’s Co-op. Yes kids can tag along but this one’s for you!
Thank you for making the Swap Shop part of your life. May you find some peace and relaxation and easy living this Mother’s Day weekend.
