We welcome new members every quarter as space is available – we are currently accepting new members.

There are several easy ways to enjoy a first time visit to the Sunnyside Swap Shop. Come in for an Open House or weekly Play Pass time, call/email Karen Hery, Sunnyside Swap Shop Co-op facilitator/coordinator at sunnysideswapshop©gmail•com (sunnysideswapshop©gmail•com) or (503) 407-2667 for a tour, stop by during office hours 9:30-noon Tues – Thurs to have a free day of play and meet a swap shop board member (great to call ahead in case we are in meetings).
Members pay a $25 joining fee and $30 per month to participate.
Reduced rate memberships at $20 a month are available for working families using our space mostly on evenings and weekends, families wishing to support the Swap Shop but not able to visit more than once or twice a month and families wishing to work more and pay less.
Trade memberships are available to full time students, unemployed and low income families willing to take on a larger member job in lieu of member fees. Two ways to join: By mail and in person. Applications for membership can be downloaded from this page and are available at the Swap Shop. If you already have an application that you have yet to turn in, please follow the directions below.
By Mail: Include your check and Swap Shop Member Application with Autopay Form (if selected) to Sunnyside Swap Shop, 3520 SE Yamhill Street, Portland OR 97214
Include a bank or cashier’s check for the $25 joining fee and applicable membership fees. At any point in the quarter, if you include an autopay form with a check for just $55 (joining fee and your first month), your ongoing membership payments will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account each month. Total for the quarter if paying by check is $115 for the joining fee and all three months of the quarter, $85 for last two months of the quarter or $55 for just the last month of a quarter. Members not on auto pay continue to pay for each quarter by check or cash by the end of the first month of each quarter.
If you are joining mid month by check or autopay, you can prorate the month you are joining to $15 instead of $30. If the membership is full when your paperwork is received, it will be held until space is available.
In Person: During Play Pass times ring the swap shop bell for a tour of the space. Come to 3520 Yamhill Street, take the steps up to the double entry doors, follow signs to the Sunnyside Family Swap Shop and Play Space. Ready to start playing and trading today? General office hours for Karen Hery are 9:30-noon Tues – Thurs. Also, most of our members can give a quick tour and tell you how to join. If you are willing to take your chances that someone is at our space to greet you, come on by (any weekday morning 10-noon is your best bet). Ring our swap shop door bell and take a look around and leave a visitors form so we can contact you with more info.
Our Member Agreement is sent to all joining members. When you join in person or on your first day visiting the Swap Shop after joining by mail, you’ll be asked to fill out a First Day Checklist.
Your membership stays active until you cancel your autopay by email or until you stop renewing your membership with quarterly check or cash payments.
