Our swap shop weekly post comes with a bonus tweet today . . . The crew of Portlandia is filming at Zupans this morning at the corner of 33rd and Belmont. Not sure how long they will be there but, when I jogged by this morning, the co-stars were in their trailer getting their make [...] We’re not waiting for the weather to cooperate. . . Summer officially starts tonight for the co-op with the return of Dena Wilder to the Swap Shop stage. From 6-6:30 she’ll lead a circle time for kids and babes in parents laps (great for all ages) and then . . . the kids are off [...]

The Sunnyside Swap and Spring Clean Up started up at 6pm yesterday at the Saint Stephens gym and parking lot at the corner of SE 42nd and Taylor – few blocks up from the Belmont Library. Stage that pile of bigger furniture items. Trim those trees and pile up those recyclables. This Friday will be our second fundraising meal for Tsunami relief in Japan. Co-op member Emi Yamauchi, recently returned from a visit to Japan (just before the Tsunami struck), is keeping in touch with friends and relatives in Japan and looking foward [...] The weather outside may be dreary but inside the Sunnyside Methodist Church building it will be very, very cheery the last Saturday of February during the Sunnyside Winter Carnival. The whole gym at 35th and Yamhill will be hopping 3pm-8pm with carnival games, a special juggling area, full size bouncy house, climbing wall [...] THURSDAY NIGHT LABYRINTH WALK: 7-9pm: I am your host tomorrow night through the candle lit, reflective journey of our building’s community labyrinth.
